During the '60 's, Herb Alpert created some of the most popular instrumental music of all time with his group the Tijuana Brass. His style blended catchy tunes, and a lively easy-Jazz brassiness, over a Mexican mariachi backdrop. This quintessential release contains Alpert's magnificent debut album for his A&M label, the Lonely Bull (1962). with it's cinematic mix of dramatic brass fanfares, crowd noise, chorus, twangy guitar, and mandolins, the song 'The Lonely Bull' became a hit, while introducing the world to the unique personal sound of Herb Alpert. The whole album was originally issued in both mono and stereo versions, and has been re-mastered here in this very special collector's edition, which features the classic LP in both formats. We have also included four bonus tracks, consisting of hard-to-find sides from Herb's first steps as a vocalist, under the alter-ego Dore Alpert.
