Homage to Richard Strauss from Lugano Vol. 2. Pizzicato enthusiastically commented on the release of our first Strauss album featuring the aspiring conductor Markus Poschner, writing, "The transparent, colorful, and alert presentation by Markus Poschner and his orchestra does complete justice to the score. It creates atmosphere and presents a soothing balance between reflection back on the Baroque and the Strauss environment." Now our second Strauss release follows with the young, tempestuous symphonic fantasy Aus Italien and his only violin concerto. The half-hour concerto is in it's instrumental character an unsettlingly perfect work of the late nineteenth century and yet another overpowering credential attesting to the very young composer's excellence!
