?This year, we are celebrating the memory of the Swedish writer and poet Erik Johan Stagnelius, who died 200 years ago (1823). The present opera by Swedish composer Thomas Jennefelt is based on Stagnelius' play Albert and Julia and was commissioned by the Swedish Radio in 1985. This magnificent project featured some of the best Swedish opera singers at the time; Lena Hoel, Mikael Samuelsson, Thomas Sunnegårdh and Erik Saedén, the vocal ensemble Lamentabile Consort, the Swedish Radio Orchestra and Choir, conducted by Göran Rydberg. The recording took place at the Swedish Radio in 1987.
